Books are treasure |

I believe learning is a treasure which many people do not appreciate as some people just read because they are forced to. I've also noticed that some other primary 6 students reading real childish booksand there was this boy who I caught reading "Princess diarys". I was tempted to ask him "are you a (no offence) faggot?"
I have a list of books that I would reccomend:
1)Maximum Ride (these kids don't need broomsticks to fly)
2)Airman
3)The Book of General Ignorance (everything you think you know is wrong)
4)Talk to the Hand (the utter bloody rudeness of the world today. Six good reasons to stay at home and bolt the door)

Learning makes the world go round....Or does it? |

I think it is necessary to have a passion for learning as without it, we will all be like wine bottles, emty from the neck up. Having a passion for learning does not just mean for acedemics. You can have a passion for learning sports, arts, etc. I have a passion for learning music and witty insults. Everyone has a different passion and is perfect in their own way.

Friday the 13th unlucky? I don't think so... |
Friday, February 13, 2009
|
Friday the 13th is rumoured to be an unlucky day but I don't think so. It is rumoured to be an unlucky day as the Templars were massacred on that day. It is also one of the safest days as many people will be so cautious with what they do on that day, therefore, not many accidents occur on that day. Last, it is just a misconception like the number of the "Beast", 666. For 2000 years, 666 has been the symbol of the dreaded Anti-Christ, who will come to rule the world before the last judgement. The bible says "Let him hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is six threescore and six." It is wrong. In 2005, a 1700-year-old papyrus was found. It states that the number is 616, not 666.

Targets (o) |

I see eye to eye with target setting as it will motivate us to achieve better results for any future examinations. For my case, my principal, Mr Martin Tan, sets targets for us based on our previous examination results. The target he set for me were straight As, but I believe I can do better.

Chinese New Year |
Monday, February 2, 2009
|
The Chinese New Year holidays have come and gone so fast. We would go to Johor Baru to my grandmother's house to meet up with my cousins from Kuala Lumpur. We entertain ourselves by watching movies, play with "water bombs" and play card games like bridge. My 19 year old cousin, Jeremy, is a magic fanatic. He will normally show and teach us some. 5 to 6 years back, we used to set off powerful fire crackers. Pity it is now illegal though. When we go visiting, we have to visit lots of people as my family tree is like this. My great grand parents gave birth to 12 children. Then, each of them gave birth to at least 3 children. Then, each of them gave birth to at least 2 children, which is my generation. I am starting to miss Chinese New Year, therefore, I can't wait for next year's one!

Defending our home, securing our future |

If I could protect something, I would protect my home, my motherland, my country, my place of birth, Singapore. I believe I can contribute to this by NS as it will prepare me for anything that happens in the future. I know NS will be tough, so, I will have to persist.
